Domestic airlines slash airfare

KATHMANDU : Domestic airline companies have slashed the airfare on different routes following the recent reduction in price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).
.A meeting of Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), an umbrella organization of the private airlines companies, held on Tuesday took a decision to reduce Rs 90 to Rs 310 per ticket.
According to Prajwal Thapa, a member of the AOAN, the airfare has been reduced by Rs 90 for the shortest air distance Kathmandu to Sirmara and by Rs 310 for the longest air distance Kathmandu to Dhangadhi.
The new airfare will be effective from Wednesday.
With the new airfare, a passenger will have to pay Rs 2,505 to travel from Kathmandu to Simara and Rs 10,100 from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi.
Private airlines have slashed the airfare after Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) reduced the price of aviation fuel by Rs 8 per liter on Monday night.
