Domestic airlines to hike airfare

KATHMANDU, June 4: Domestic airlines companies have hiked the airfare on different routes following the recent reduction in price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).

Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), an umbrella organization of the private airlines companies, held on Sunday took a decision to reduce Rs 45 to Rs 220 per ticket.

The new airfare will be effective from Tuesday.

With the new airfare, a passenger will have to pay Rs 3,170 to travel from Kathmandu to Simara and Rs 12,870 from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi.

Private airlines have hiked the airfare after Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) reduced the price of aviation fuel by Rs 5 per liter on Saturday midnight.

The new rates for some of the locations from Kathmandu are as follows:
