Domestic flights to be operated from 6 am

KATHMANDU, July 25: Domestic flights will be operated on 6 am from December 1. This is being implemented for mountain flights at Lukla. Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Civil Avaition, Rabindra Adhikari said that the number of tourists doing mountain flights is increasing due to which there is huge traffic in TIA so that the government has decided to change the time schedule for proper management.
Previously, the flights used to be operated from 7:00-7:45 am but now it will be operated from 6:00 am. Managing Director of Tribhuwan International Airport, Rajkumar Chhetri, said that the flights will be operated on 6 am from 1st September. After the discussion with domestic airlines, they have decided to open the counter of domestic airlines from 5 am. The tower will be operated from 5:45 onwards, he added.
To operate the flight from 6 am the workers must reach airport by 5 am, passengers on 5:25 am and tower must be operated on 5:45 am. The government has been giving more emphasis on the management of airport to meet the target of 2 million tourists by 2020. The minister has announced that the airport will be operated for 24 hours by 2020.
