Duration of opening hours of Kumari Ghar increases

KATHMANDU, Sep 27 : Kumari Ghar based in Basantapur has been opened for an easy access of public from today to pay homage to the Living Goddess Kumari.
The house of the Living Goddess shall remain open for devotees from 9:00 am to 19:00 pm every day from today until the day of Kojagrat Purnima, the concluding of Dashain. The duration of opening hours at the Kumari Ghar has been lengthened for the convenience of devotees wishing to see the Living Goddess on the special occasion of Dashain, said its patron Gautam Ratna Shakya.
The Living Goddess is worshiped as the incarnation of the Goddess Taleju Bhawani.
At regular times, it remains open from 9:00-12:00 noon and 4:00-6:00 pm for public. As per the tradition, the Living Goddess visits the temple of Taleju Bhawani on Mahanawami, the ninth day of the Dashain festival. She is taken to the temple from the Kumarighar on the midnight of this day with established rituals.
