Ektakkali won the Beauty Contest

CHITWAN,Jan 1 :An elephant named 'Ektakkali' wins the title of an elephant beauty contest during the 13th annual Elephant Festival in Sauraha, Chitwan district, Dec. 29, 2016. 30 years old ‘Ektakkali’ won the title scoring 83 points.

In the contest, ‘Pushpakali’, 15 elephant won the first runner-up, scoring 73 points. The second runner-up is ‘Selfikali’, 11 scoring 69 points. After winning the contest mahout of ‘Ektakkali’, Jewarlal Paswan said he was happy for hard work outcome.[/caption]
Judges Dr. Kamal Gaire, Kiran Rijal and Parmananda Garga— who checked contestant’s bodies' for scars and overall beauty and also watched them perform trick.
‘Punam’ won the makeup contest.
The five-day Elephant Festival was organized by the Regional Hotel Association of Sauraha to promote tourism and raise awareness about wildlife protection.
