Endangered Himalayan vulture appearing in Myagdi

MYAGDI: The Himalayan Jatayu (vulture), an endangered species, which is found at high hill and mountainous areas of Myagdi district is appearing here of late.
Locals said the Himalayan vulture which was on verge of extinct due to poisonous food, rising temperature and lack of safer habitat is rarely seen in some places of Myagdi after the district was declared diclofenac-free zone.
Dhruba Poudel of Chimkhola informed that the endangered vulture species was seen in Chimkhola, Mudi and Tulang areas.
Some positive symptoms are seen towards the preservation of endangered species in a year after the district was declared diclofenac zone.
