Everest Link to expand its internet services in remote Himalayas

KATHMANDU, Mar 12: Everest Link, which had been providing internet service to high mountainous regions and remote areas of Nepal, is expanding its service. The company, which started operation four years ago from the Everest region, is expanding service to other tourism destinations as well.
Everest Link is expanding services to villages in the Makalu Village Municipality, including Bung, Cheskam, and Gudel Village. The municipality connects the Solukhumbu, Mera Peak, Everest, and Makalu trekking routes.
The company has also extended service to the popular Gokyo Valley in the Everest region. Similarly, it has started offering its services to Langtang, Rasuwa and the Manaslu region and base camp. It also offers internet service in the upper Mustang trekking route.
The services provided by Everest Link in remote tourism areas allows foreign tourists to upload moments of their trek and visits to social media sites immediately, which has also helped to promote Nepal's tourism market abroad.
The services of Everest Link is now available till Kyangjing Gumba in the Langtang trekking route. Everest Link had also started the Hello Doctor service last November to trekkers and mountaineers in the Everest region. CEO of the company, Chhiring Gyaljen Sherpa, said that it plans to provide online education services to the Mahakulung region which joins Sagarmatha and Makalu. This would allow locals in remote regions of the Himalayas to provide easy and quality education to their children.
