POKHARA, June 8: Nepali Congress (NC) Kaski has drawn the attention of provincial government and federal government toward the report about the construction of a regional airport of an international-standard in Kaski.
A team headed by NC Kaski President Krishna KC Friday called on Chief Minister of province no 4, Prithvi Subba Gurung, with its concerns over the report, which as claimed by it a conspiracy to foil the plan of constructing a regional airport in the town. The expert committee’s suggestion that the airport was not suitable for operating flights was a conspiracy hatched to foil the project when 15 percent construction works have already been completed, the party claimed.
NC district president KC termed the report prepared by an expert committee of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation ‘ill-intended’.
Receiving the memo, Chief Minister Gurung described the airport as a base for bringing prosperity in the district and assured the team to be confident that it would be constructed by 2021 AD.
The Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has also protested against the report and drew the attention of the CM towards that end.
