Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu celebrating first anniversary of establishment in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Mar 23: The Hotel Fairfield by Marriott situated in Thamel, Kathmandu has reached its first anniversary of establishment in Nepal on Friday. The three-star hotel is part of an international hotel chain based in Maryland, US.

Fairfield by Marriott is one of the hospitality industry’s fastest-growing brands around the world, with nearly 900 locations worldwide. It was established in 1987 and has won a unique reputation with the Fairfield 100% guarantee service and over time has come to be known for its legacy of trusted service and family treatment. The brand employs more than 3,000 associates worldwide.

The hotel recently launched a global social responsibility initiative together with Habitat for Humanity on the occasion of its 30th global anniversary. On October 26, hotel associates from Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu and members of the international press worked together with Habitat for Humanity Nepal to build a home for a local family in Kavre, Nepal, an area devastated by the earthquake of 2015.

The hotel has also organized various programs over the last year on different occasions including the Chinese Food Festival on February, and Newari Bhoj festival on August, among others. The global franchise also launched a new brand design on its 30th global anniversary, with a return to its roots at Fairfield Farm. It included farmhouse elements and themes, photo artwork from the original Fairfield Farm, and a decor package that is warm, timeless, and inviting, qualities which the brand is known for.

Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu has also had an unprecedented employee practice. 45% of its 70-80 employees are female, and the hotel has a six month probation period after which employees can gain a permanent employee status and apply to work at any of the brand’s other branches around the world.
