Flight schedules of TIA to face obstacles for 3 days

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The flight schedules of Nepal’s sole International Airport, the Tribhuwan International Airport will be thrown out of gear for 3 days starting from Saturday, the Civil Aviation Authority has informed.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has informed that the radar test transmission in Bhattedanda, Lalitpur will be obstructing the departure and arrivals of the planes in the airport. Though Nepal installed radar two years before it failed to make test transmission.
The radar will enter into the formal transmission after the three days test for which an team with aircraft has arrived in Nepal. The new radar was installed upon receiving the financial aid from the JICA which will cover the whole area of Eastern Nepal and the till Nepalgunj of Western Nepal.
The main propose of the radar installation is to detect the aircrafts which makes attempt to enter Nepali aerospace sans permission.
Likewise, the radar also will give information if the aircraft heads to the wrong direction or any changes in the weather is witnessed.
