FNCCI assures to work smoothly with working class people

KATHMANDU: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the employers' council of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), said that they would work with the working class in a more understanding manner even in the current difficult situation caused by the corona virus.


Giving a message of good wishes on the occasion of May 1, Labor Day, as the Chairman of the Council, Dhakal said that the world economy was in a state of stagnation for a long time as the whole world was going through the pandemic of COVID-19. In the message, he said, "I wish all the working brothers and sister good health and safety, urging them to travel with more understanding in this difficult time of history."

Dhakal said in his message, "In this dangerous epidemic, we need to move forward by protecting our livelihoods and businesses through mutual harmony, friendship and coordination." President Dhakal said that the Corona virus has already taken the lives of millions of people and millions of people were losing their jobs . Also, the same number of people were facing starvation and food crisis.

Dhakal said that Nepal has been in a state of complete shutdown for more than a month, development works have come to a standstill, industries, businesses and factories have been closed and the inflow of remittances has been declining in the country.

According to the World Economic Outlook released by the International Monetary Fund in April 2020, the global economy is projected to shrink by 3 percent in 2020 due to the global epidemic in Corona.The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has estimated that Nepal's economic growth rate will be 2.27 percent, which is just a preliminary projection.
