FNCCI suggests government to promote domestic tourism

KATHMANDU, May 18: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has submitted suggestions to the government for formulating revenue policy and program, fiscal bill and budget for the fiscal year 2077/78.
They have suggested that a package with special financial facilities should be brought for the revival of the tourism sector. They have also mentioned that domestic and rural tourism should be promoted and special emphasis should be given to religious tourism for regional tourism.
Similarly, suggestions have been given that the tourism sector should be kept under special industry and upgradation of Tribhuvan International Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara Regional Airport should be done. Also, in order to encourage marital tourism in Nepal, there should be an arrangement for such tourists to bring jewelry on the condition of self-declaration and return.
