FNCCI helps more than 300 COVID infected patients through help desk

KATHMANDU, June 04: More than 300 infected people of Covid have directly benefited from the Covid-19 Health Help Center established by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The federation had set up the Covid-19 Health Help Center on May 7 under the coordination of FNCCI Senior Vice President Chandra Prasad Dhakal. The center was set up by the federation with the aim of helping the state to save lives of the people by preventing and controlling the pandemic of the second wave of COVID-19 in the country.

A meeting of the FNCCI Central Executive Committee chaired by FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha on May 6 decided to set up isolation centers at Jain Bhawan, Chhetrapati and Pulchowk under the coordination of Senior Vice President Dhakal.

Under the help center, the service has been started by operating the center in three places of the valley with proper arrangement of food and medicine to the families of the people who are suffering from covid. These services also provide free medical treatment and food. In addition, doctors, nurses and health workers are available round the clock in these isolation centers.

In addition, those living in isolation and those who have come in direct contact with ICU, ventilator, oxygen service as well as patients who need to be admitted to the hospital for treatment have been provided facilities in the hospital as per the need. According to the federation, more than 300 citizens have directly benefited from the services provided so far.

Similarly, Dhakal said that he has personally provided 30 oxygen cylinders at the isolation center in Kshatrapati and more than 50 infected people have benefited from it. Arrangements were made for the infected to come to the isolation center themselves and to bring the infected to the aid center by providing air and ambulance services from outside Kathmandu and the valley as needed.

The health campaign run by the federation has brought relief to many, including infected patients, their families and relatives. According to the federation, the center has provided assistance to the senior citizens from one and a half years of age to 102 years of age who have just contracted covid infection.
     
The center is providing ICUs, ventilators and essential medicines to patients in critical condition due to covid infection. Members Deshbandhu Regmi and Babukaji Karki coordinated the ICU and ventilator management and managed the beds in the hospital.
