Former HAN President Amar Man Shakya passes away

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Former President of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) Amar Man Shakya has passed away on Friday 3 am morning at the age of 72. He died of COVID-19 complications.
Though he contracted COVID-19 before the Dashain festival, he was having treatment at the hospital due to pneumonia and other complications.
Issuing a statement, HAN said , Shakya has been active in Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) for more than 24 years and hospitality sector has lost an active campaigner for the development of the hotel industry and tourism sector of the country.
According to HAN, establish unity and co-operation between employers and workers in the hotel sector.
Shakya had served as the President of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) from October 5, 2016 to May 12, 2019. He also is the Owner and Managing Director of Amar Hotel at Kalimati.
He is survived by his wife and two sons.
