Foundation of Pokhara International Airport to be laid again

KATHMANDU: The work of laying the foundation of International Airport is again set to start the Civil Aviation Authority said.


During a press meet organized by Pokhara International Airport construction committee, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority Sanjib Gautam verified of the work that is to be initiated.

“Although the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone on April 13, the constriction task could not start because of various difficulties. Now, the construction of road up to airport is finished and airport designing has started” he added.

CAMC Engineering Company, a Chinese construction company has started construction works of the Pokhara International Airport.

The China CAMC Engineering Company has been awarded with the

contract to complete the construction of airport. The company has started the construction of temporary buildings for the company’s technical staffs, workers and for storage purpose. Pradip Adhikari said. The company is assigned to complete the construction of Airport by July of 2020.
