GAMCE starts in Kathmandu to promote adventure tourism in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Mar 23: The Global Adventure and Mountaineering Conference and Expo (GAMCE) 2018 has started in Kathmandu on March 23. The conference was organized jointly by the Nepal Tourism Board and House of Rajkarnicar to promote adventure tourism in Nepal.

CEO of the Tourism Board inaugurated the conference, expressing his belief that the conference will help in attracting more tourists to Nepal. He said that the conference will help establish Nepal as a chief location for adventure tourism around the world.

Managing Director of the organizing company, Birendra Rajkarnicar, said that the conference was held to establish Nepal as a global adventure hub, and added that the conference will be continued in the future years as well.

General Secretary of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Kul Bahadur Gurung and its former president Ang Tshering Sherpa said the conference would be helpful in promoting mountaineering tourism.

The GAMCE conference will take place from March 23 to March 25. There will be 42 speakers at the conference from Nepal as well as foreign countries. Experts in various adventure sports and tourism including cycling, mountaineering, and skiing will be speaking at the conference giving information to attendees. The conference will also have an exhibition of different adventure sports gear.
