Gandaki State Member Rajiv Pahari emphasizes need to promote mountaineering

POKHARA, Oct 11: Gandaki State member Rajiv Pahari said that it was necessary to focus on mountaineering to increase tourism activities. At a program organized by the Women Tourism Entrepreneurs Forum (WOTEF) on the occasion of Dashain, he highlighted the importance of mountaineering tourism for tourism promotion and stressed on its development.

MP Pahari said that emphasis should be laid on tourist-targeted programs to boost tourism, which was slowed down by the Corona pandemic. He opined that the vaccinated tourists should be given on arrival visa to make it easier for them to travel. 

Hari Lamichhane, a member of the Mountaineering Committee, said that an average of 3.5 lakh tourists visit the museum annually and pointed out the need for additional policy plans to develop it as an attractive tourist destination.

Devka Pahari, advisor of the organization, pointed out the need for more publicity to develop the Mountain Museum as an excellent tourist destination. At the program, WOTEF's founding Chairperson Jamuna Parajuli, Vice-Chairperson Uma Regmi Bhandari, Secretary Mamata Neupane and others gave information about the activities and future programs of the organization.
