Gautam Buddha gets international airport recognition

According to Engineer Pradeep Adhikari, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Gautam Buddha International Airport, which has been preparing for commercial flights since May 16, has received the certificate of international airport from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on May 11.
As soon as the construction work of the airport was completed, a calibration flight was conducted in March. Along with the success of the caliber flight, a demo flight was also flown to the airport on April 28 by a widebody aircraft of Nepal Airlines.
Indian Air Force aircraft have also landed at Bhairahawa. The commercial flight of the airport is being operated on the day of Buddha Jayanti from 16th of May. Commercial flights will start from Jazeera Airways at the airport. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will also be present on the day of the commercial flight.
Jazeera Airways plane will land at Gautam Buddha International Airport on May 16 at 7 am. There will also be a special program to launch commercial flights on the same occasion.
