KATHMANDU, June 11: In the new policy of government in the budget announcement of 2019/20, VAT charges will not be charged for importing the parts of aircrafts and helicopters.

Airline companies and helicopter companies were facing problems while doing business as they had to pay 13% VAT to the government for importing the parts of aircrafts and helicopters. The entrepreneurs of domestic airlines were demanding to reduce VAT in order to compete with international companies.

The government has removed VAT charge for the parts of helicopters weighing up to 2,000 kg and aircrafts part weighing up to 15,000 kg whereas the tax charge will remain the same. The government has introduced this policy in order to make Visit Nepal 2020 campaign successful.
