Government rescues tourists from Mustang

KATHMANDU, March 26: Tourists who were stuck in Mustang has been rescued by the government. After the announcement of lockdown to prevent the spread of corona virus, the tourists have been trapped in various parts of the country.

According to the District Administration Office, a total of 121 tourists from 21 different parts of the country have been rescued from Annapurna Circuit and Mustang and brought to Kathmandu. Chief District Officer Ved Prasad Aryal informed that the tourists were rescued and sent to Kathmandu within a period of three days.

Tourists from countries including the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Portugal, Britain, Ukraine, New Zealand have been sent by bus to Kathmandu. Other tourists are also being searched, said  Aryal. The tourists sent from here are told that the tourism board will coordinate with the concerned embassy to return them to their country.
