Government starts full preparations for Visit Nepal 2020 campaign

KATHMANDU, Aug 02: The government has started full preparations for Visit Nepal 2020. A major project for the campaign, identifying and promoting 100 new tourist destination, has already started with the separation of 5 different categories and an open call for submissions of potential destinations.
A budget of 100 million rupees have been separated for the campaign. The aim for the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign is to attract 2 million tourists to the country, with the hope that it will give new energy to the tourism sector of Nepal. Executive Chief of the Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi, said that 10,000 people will be trained under the campaign itself.
Joshi also acknowledged that the chief hurdle for accomplishing the aim of attracting 2 million tourists will be the routes to enter the country, adding that ways to ease the road passage of tourists to the country have been under discussion.
