Government to provide approval of international flights as per new procedure

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The number of domestic airline company providing international flight service has been increasing as the government has modified the process of approving the international flights. The meeting of the Ministers has recently passed the new procedure of approving the international flights. After the procedure is passed by the ministers now 2 passengers and 1 cargo plane will be added. The approval of three airline companies will get permission.
In the procedure, companies will be selected and they will have to conduct scheduled flight within 3 years of getting the permission. According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation the companies conducting domestic flights in various destinations within the country can also give their application to conduct international flights.
There is the business of 1 billion rupees in the Nepalese aviation sector in which international companies earn 90% of the share .Currently, Nepal Airlines, Himalaya Airways and Buddha Air has been operating international flights. Though BB Airways have received the license it has not been able to conduct international flights. According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, 30 international flights have been flying in Nepal.
The businessmen have showed their dissatisfaction on the limited number of approval. They have said that approval should be provided to those airlines which are ready to conduct international flights.
