Guna Airlines announces to start direct flights from Pokhara to 3 more cities

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Private sector airline Guna Airlines will start direct flights from Pokhara to three more cities at a time. There are plans to operate daily flights from Pokhara to Bharatpur, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj.

The Pokhara-Bharatpur route is scheduled to be operated from Wednesday. Similarly, the airline has stated that it will start flights on Pokhara-Bhairahawa route from Thursday and Pokhara-Nepalgunj route from Friday. Prajwal Thapa, Market Chief of Guna Airlines said, “"If the demand increases by increasing the number of passengers, we can also increase the number of flights."

According to Thapa, the Jetstream aircraft with a capacity of 30 seats can be used for flights on these routes if required. According to him, the number of air passengers has increased a lot recently. There is a rush of passengers not only on the way to the capital but also on the route connecting the provincial cities. 

He said that as other airlines started flying on the provincial routes, Guna was also preparing to fly on three new routes. He informed that they are also preparing for the flight from Pokhara to Biratnagar after some time. Guna Airlines currently has five Jetstream aircraft with a capacity of 30 seats and two Beechcrafts with an capacity of 18 seats.

The fare from Pokhara to Bharatpur has been fixed at Rs 3750. Similarly, the fare up to Bhairahawa is Rs 4350 and up to Nepalgunj is Rs 7925. The company also said that the fare may be cheaper depending on the demand of the passengers.
