Himalaya Airlines becomes set to fly to Lhasa

KATHMANDU,June 27: Himalaya Airlines is set to fly to Lhasa, Tibet as a new destination. Vijay Shrestha, Vice-President of the airline, said that Lhasa would be the first destination after the opening of international flights.
"If there had been no lockdown, we would have flown to Lhasa earlier," said Shrestha. "Now that the flight is open, our airlines will fly to Lhasa regularly." According to the airline, all the necessary preparations have been completed for the flight to Lhasa, which is considered as a very important tourist destination.
In Lhasa, the Himalaya will operate by a new narrow-body A319 aircraft. The airship has 128 seats including 8 business classes. The flight schedule to Lhasa has not been made public. The airlines plans to fly daily or a few days a week depending on the situation at that time.
The Himalaya airlines had been flying to Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Doha, Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Guiyadam, and many more before lockdown. Himalaya Airlines is the only airline in Nepal that connects Saudi Arabia and Nepal by expanding its historic network in Dammam. Similarly, Himalaya is the only Nepali airline to fly to China.
