Hotel Radisson President Govinda Shrestha to build resting house at Galeshwor Mahadev

KATHMANDU, Mar 02: President of Hotel Radisson, Govinda Das Shrestha, has ceremonially dug the foundations for a pilgrims' resting house at the Galeshwor Mahadev Temple in Myagdi.

Shrestha visited the popular Galeshwor Temple with his family to start the foundation for the resting house which he has financed personally. The building will be able to house 100 people. The building is being constructed with a budget of 5 million rupees obtained from the Govinda Saraswati Foundation.

President of the Foundation, Rudra Bahadur K.C., said that the building will be of two-storeys, have six rooms, and will be able to accommodate 100 people. He informed that the building is being made to accommodate the increasing numbers of pilgrims who come through this route to visit Muktinath, which is a pilgrimage spot for both Hindu and Buddhist people.

Shrestha also urged other entrepreneurs to give back to the community by spending some of their earning for social causes. CDO of Myagdi, Krishna Prasad Adhikari, said that by being active in social work, Shrestha has done commendable work.

With the construction of the building, the Galeshwor Temple will accommodate 500 pilgrims daily. Currently, the temple can accommodate 400 pilgrims and also provides free meals to them. Member at the Govinda Saraswati Foundation, Madhav Prasad Regmi, said that this has been Shrestha's biggest contribution till date in the infrastructure development of Galeshwor Temple.
