Hotel registration on the rise in the past 3 months

KATHMANDU, July 19: The registration of new hotels and restaurants has been on the rise in the last three months. According to the Company Registrar Office, a total of 364 hotels, lodges, restaurants, and bars have been registered in the same amount of time. Among them, 9 hotels have registered with a capital of Rs. 100,000, 264 hotels have capital between Rs. 100,000 and Rs. 10 million, while 81 hotels have been registered with capital between Rs. 10 million and Rs. 1 billion. Similarly, 2 hotels have been registered with capital over Rs. 1 billion.
According to the statistics, the most number of registrations have taken place in Province 3 with 283 registrations, while Province 6 has seen the least number of registrations with only 2 hotels registered.
The hotels with more than 1 billion rupees of investment include Grand Siddhartha and Group Kathmandu, and High Life Hospitality Lalitpur. Hotel entrepreneurs say that in view of the upcoming Visit Nepal 2020 year, the increasing number of hotel establishments is a positive thing. General Secretary of the Hotel Association of Nepal, Binayak Shah, says that the hotel sector has been engaged in working for the Vision 2020 since the tourism year of 2011.
