ILAM, Mar 07: The number of tourists visiting Ilam is on the rise. With the climate making way for pleasant weather, the number of tourists visiting Ilam for observing the beautiful nature is rising.

[caption id="attachment_2297" align="alignnone" width="786"] Tourism entrepreneurs, however, say that this has not allowed for an increase in profits. Tourists visiting Ilam generally visit only a few places like Kanyam, Pathibhara, and Shriantu, they mostly neglect the many other tourism spots including Sidhithumka, Mangsebung, Ilambazaar, Pashupatinagar, Sandakpur, Maipokhari, etc.[/caption]

The market center of the district has been acting only as a place to settle down for the night. Market centers like Ilambazar, Fikkal, and Pashupatinagar still do not attract tourists, and they rather function as a place for tourists to stay the night before moving on.

In lack of sufficient promotion and infrastructure, Ilam has been unable to draw sufficient profits from visiting tourists. Hotel owners complain that they have not been able to profit as well as they expected.
