POKHARA, Jan 06: Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City has removed illegally built constructions on the bank of Fewa Lake.
Local entrepreneurs have been trying to construct stalls in the areas around the Fewa Lake bank, like Kapoudi, and Gaira. The metropolitan had seized the construction materials from them multiple times, but was forced to demolish the stalls on Thursday as the business-owners did not stop their efforts.
The mayor of the city, Man Bahadur G.C. said that the illegal constructions were removed using a team including the city police and Nepal police. “We were forced to demolish the constructions after they disregarded multiple requests to move,” he said, “Fewa Lake a gem of Pokhara city, it is a duty of the metropolitan to conserve it.”
