Increment of remuneration of travel and trekking workers

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The government has increased the minimum salary of travel and trekking sector workers. The government has recently increased the minimum wage of travel and trekking workers according to sixth amendment of the rules.
The salary of the workers was not revised even after the fifth amendment of rules. According to the information published by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on 29 Jan, the number of tourists traveling with tourists in travel and trekking has increased.
Even though the government did not pay minimum wages for the workers, there was a remuneration of mutual agreement of remuneration between the joint institution and labor organization of service providers.
According to Rajendra Sapkota, a former tourism businessman and former member of Nepal Tourism Board, time and work nature were considered to be based on many criteria for remuneration. He also mentioned that the remuneration is decided after the agreement between Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and other unions between the labors.
