Indian Embassy donates books to TAAN

KATHMANDU, August 15 : Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has been provided with a donation of library books of around fifty thousand Nepali rupees (NRs. 50,000) on its 71st Independence Day Celebration amidst a function at embassy on August 15, 2017 AD.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TAAN Mr. Tek Bahadur Mahat received the books from Indian Head of Mission his Excellency Manjib Singh Puri.

“The books donated from embassy include wide range of genres, but especially tourism, culture, topography, map, itinerary, dictionary, among others were prioritized, as requested,” Tek Bahadur Mahat, CEO of TAAN said.

TAAN has initiated the concept of 'Tourism Library' in Nepal which makes the beginning from TAAN secretariat. Hopefully, the idea gets endorsed by other associations and entire tourism fraternity to set up a library in future, making it a hub of educational tourism and satisfying anyone concerned seeking knowledge of tourism industry.

Meanwhile, The Asia Foundation has already confirmed books for TAAN library. TAAN is also committed to making education accessible to the remotest part of the country in close coordination with such foundations.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TAAN Mr. Tek Bahadur Mahat says that the library is expected to cater to the needs of students, internees, researchers and anyone interested on the field of tourism.

''Now, Nepal needs to accelerate to harness the potential of Educational Tourism'' CEO Mahat said.
