Kantipath Tourist Bus Park to be moved to Sorakhutte

KATHMANDU, Jun 26: The three-decade old tourist bus park situated at Kantipath Road is being shifted to Sorakhutte from June 30. The move has been made by the Home Ministry under the Home Administration Reform Action Plan.
A committee has been formed for the relocation of the tourist bus park under the Joint Secretary of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Rajeshwor Gyawali. The committee consists of members from the Traffic Police, ward representatives, as well as members from the interest groups associated with the bus park. Joint Secretary Gyawali stated that the bus park is being moved to Sorakhutte as the Kantipath area is becoming highly congested.
"The bus park will be operated from the Sorakhutte-Chamati road for now," he said, "the proper placement of bus parks will be important for the establishment of an attractive metropolis. The Kantipath bus park has been placing buses going to Pokhara and Sauraha.
