Karbakeli Eco Trekking trail launch

KATHMANDU, May 19: Karbakeli Tourism Managment Committee has been launched as new Karbakeli  eco trekking trails in Kathmandu on 18th May 2018.

The trail was jointly launched by the  Nepal Tourism Board, Director  Kashi Raj Bhandari,  Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN),President Nava Raj Dahal, Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), General Secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung and Himalayan Map House  Mananging Director Pawan Shakya .

Karbakeli Eco Trek starts from popular trekking spot; Poonhill which is a viewpoint of Dhaulagiri Annapurna Range. Trek then passes through Phullbari to Karbakeli Than. After reaching to Karbakeli Than, travelers have four options to reach Beni Bazar (District headquarters of Myagdi District in Dhaulagiri Zone of Nepal) which is the last stop of Karbakeli Eco Trek.

The visitors will get to see the panoramic view of Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Machapuchare, Mt Gurja and Mt Annapurna among half a dozen peaks along the Great Himalayan Range. The indigenous culture and traditions in the villages and the way of life will be another attraction for the holidaymakers.

Trekking trail is located inside the Annapurna Rural Municipality – 8 of Kafaldanda.

At the temple located 2,200 meters above sea level at Kafaldanda, the idols of gods and goddesses of the Magar community including that of their Chief God Karbakeli Baba, his two wives Himal and Fimala, elder son Ramchan and youngest son Kulchan have been placed.

The local villagers have also been calling on the authorities to enlist the temple as a national heritage site.
