Kathmandu Mayor promises to make Kathmandu “Attractive Tourist City”

KATHMANDU, July 10 : Newly elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidhya Sundar Shakya has promised to make Nepal’s capital Kathmandu an attractive tourist city.
Kathmandu Metropolis Mayor made the commitment in the semi- annual assembly of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN). He also showed his willingness to expedite the works in collaboration with the concerned authorities to achieve the target.
“We do have dedication and willingness to work but the legal and other obstacles are hindering it,” Kathmandu Mayor Shakya said.
“But we need not be worried, we will make Kathmandu a attractive tourist city,” He further added. He laid out the plans that he has the plans to make Kathmandu a No-mask city and a city suitable for residence.
HAN has demanded for the development of tourism product and has requested the local representative to make appropriate environment for the development of tourism sector.
HAN’s president Arman Shakya asked the local representative to work above the political beliefs for the development of the tourism and its promotion.
He also claimed that the number of four star hotels in the Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini and Himalayan Regions is constantly rising and by 2020 the number of star hotels in the regions will rise to 4 thousand with the number.
