Legal matters for establishment of tourism university in final stage

CHITWAN, July 18: The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, has informed that legal framework for the establishment of tourism university has reached its final stage.
In a press conference on Monday, Minister Adhikari said, "The legal matters for the establishment of tourism university is in the final stage; it will be passed by the ministers' council within a month." Adhikari said that the university is being established to develop skilled manpower in the tourism sector of Nepal, as even though the field has employed around 100,000 people, few of them are skilled.
The minister also informed that he is focusing on the development of material infrastructure the tourism sector with the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign in mind, which aims to bring 2 million tourists to the country. He informed that the government is working to develop more than 100 tourism destination across all the states and to connect them in effective way. For this aim, a view tower is being constructed at Sauraha as well as national parks and nearby tourism areas are being connected with Lumbini and Kathmandu.
