Locals of Pokhara demands to operate international air flights from Pokhara Airport

POKHARA, Oct 11: Locals of Pokhara have demanded to operate international air flights from the beginning of operation of the regional international airport under construction in Pokhara.
In a program organized by Pokhara Tourism Council on Sunday, they have demanded that international flights should be started from the very beginning when the airport is brought into operation as Pokhara Airport has been the dream international airport of everyone for four decades.
Meanwhile, Gandaki Finance Minister Ramji Prasad Baral said that international flights should be started from the start of operation of the regional international airport being constructed in Pokhara. Minister Baral said that the focus will be on how to get the tourists from the fast track to the destination as soon as the Pokhara airport is operational. Minister Baral said that special initiative would be taken to open Ratna Mandir and Hima Griha as new tourist destinations in Pokhara.
Gandaki MP Rajiv Pahari demanded that a special package be brought to the tourism sector affected by the corona. Ward Chairman of Pokhara-6 Jagat Bahadur Pahari said that the tourism sector should be made dynamic now. Gokarna Karki, Vice-president of the Federation of Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industry, expressed concern over the dilapidated bus park in Pokhara.
Chairman of the council Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai demanded to regulate the banks and financial institutions to include the workers along with the relief package to rehabilitate the businessmen affected by the corona. Vice-Chairman Pom Narayan Shrestha said that the state government would send ambassadors from 11 countries to Pokhara to convey the message that the tourism sector in Pokhara is open and secure.
