Lumbini sets benchmark by attracting more than 50 thousand tourists

LUMBINI, Oct 29: This year Lumbini sets a new benchmark in the making good business by attracting more than fifty thousand tourists. Within nine days from the beginning of Dashain, fifty three thousand one hundred and twenty five domestic and international tourists had visited Lumbini. Thirty nine thousand six hundred and twenty five were from Nepal and six thousand nine hundred and eighty five were from India.
Among the total number of tourists from Nepal eighteen thousand three hundred were from nearby districts; Rupandehi, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu.
The Chief of information of Lumbini development trust; Rajan Basnet says that tourism has flourished due to political stability. Domestic tourists also believe that currently a pleasant environment for tourism has been maintained in the country. The statistics show that the growth in tourists that visit Lumbini is gradually growing every year.
Cottage industries and domestic manufacturing are hugely benefitted due to the growth in tourism. The economic benefit from the tourism provides through local business is helping national companies.
