Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd to built resort worth Rs 351.8 million

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd. under Chitwan Co-E Group is going to build a resort at the top station of Manakamana Cable Car (Gorkha). A total of Rs 351.8 million will be invested in the resort, said Rajesh Babu Shrestha, Director of the company.

He said that the resort with a total capacity of 40 rooms will be in the luxury segment. The resort, which has been completed within a year and a half, will be constructed in an area of ​​nine ropanis.

Shrestha said that the resort is being brought into operation with the objective of promoting religious and tourism in the Manakamana area. He is confident that with the opening of the resort, local employment will be created and the number of tourists will increase. Shrestha informed that the resort will have a standard restaurant, a conference hall with a capacity of 100 people and other facilities.

Apart from the resort, the Manakamana cable car currently in operation is also being upgraded. Shrestha said that around Rs 300 million would be spent on upgrading alone. Chitwan Co-E has planned to spend a total of Rs. 650 million for upgrading the cable car and constructing a new resort.

Manakamana Cable Car has entered its 24th year after completing 23 years of operation. Shrestha also informed that the analog connect system currently being used in cable cars is being upgraded to digital system.
