Minister Adhikari in China to garner support for joint tourism promotion

KATHMANDU, Sep 08: A delegation led by the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari,has participated in the opening ceremony of the 5th Sichuan International Tourism Expo on September 7. The minister attended the tourism expo as part of the high-level government delegation to forge new relationship with the Sichuan Province in China for joint promotion of the shared Buddhist heritage between Nepal and China.



Minister Adhikari expressed his appreciation for the support of the Chinese government in initiating promotional partnership with Nepal and welcomed close association for further work together. The delegation also attended the Emei Global Summit to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Leshan Municipality in China and Ramgram and Palpa municipalities, and the Lumbini Development Trust in Nepal.


The travel fair will take place until September 9 and will have the attendance of international delegates, members of Chinese and international tourism fraternity, Chinese tour operators, international buyers and professionals. 14 Nepali tour operators working in Nepal attended a B2B session during the expo. Visitors can find a presentation and visuals on Nepali tourism.


Simultaneously, Nepal Week of Handicraft Exhibition started on September 5 till 9, to display and sell Nepali handicrafts including wood work, metal work, Thanka, pottery etc. The event also includes showcasing Nepal through heritage culinary, cultural dance and photo exhibition.
