Minister of Tourism declares plans to establish tourism university

POKHARA, July 05: The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, has said that the government is making preparations to establish a tourism university.

Minister Adhikari informed at the final event of the 35-day trekking guide training conducted by Three Sister Tourism Training Center, "There is the need for a tourism university for the production of skilled manpower needed by the tourism sector." He informed that a bill will be presented to the parliament within a month for the establishment of the university, adding that to succeed in the aim of attracting 2 million tourists by 2020, every sector has an important role.

He also said that since 70% of the foreign tourists coming to Nepal do so for trekking, the trekking guides of Nepal are the tourism ambassadors for our country.
