Minister of Tourism ensures action against parties involved in fake rescues

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, has informed that the parties involved in fake rescue cases will be prosecuted. The investigation committee formed by the ministry has already submitted its report, under which 8 travel and trekking companies, 4 hospitals, and 3 helicopter companies are implicated. Investigation process has already been started for these parties.

Minister Adhikari informed at a meeting of the House of Representatives that the ministry would also investigate royalty leakages. 5 companies have been referred to Nepal Rastra Bank for further action as they have been found to be dealing with foreign currency exchanges without the required permission. The hospitals have also been referred to the Health and Population Ministry for not charging fees according to the official standards and operating unethically.

Involved parties have also been referred to the Home Ministry for producing fake paperwork to claim insurance.
