MoU signed between Global IME Bank and Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS)

KATHMANDU, Sep 16: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Global IME Bank Limited and  Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS) to provide subsidized loans as well as financial literacy and entrepreneurship training to the people of the target community and region.

As per the agreement, on the recommendation of Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS) , Global IME Bank Limited will provide concessional loans to youths returning from foreign employment, dependent families of workers in foreign employment, people rescued from human trafficking and individuals from the target community and region.

The Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS), in coordination with the concerned local government, will make a list of target persons by soliciting applications for selection in the program. The institute will provide appropriate orientation training to the selected persons and will recommend to the bank for concessional loan.

The MoU has been signed by Mr. Ratnaraj Bajracharya, Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank Ltd. and Mr. Chiranjeevi Baral, Executive Director of Nepal Institute of Development Studies (NIDS) .

Global IME Bank aims to provide access to banking services to all sectors and classes across the country and abroad. The Bank has 280 branches in 76 districts, 250 ATMs, 257 branchless banking services, 47 extensions and revenue collection counters and 3 overseas representative offices. The center is providing services to more than 2.3 million customers.

Similarly, the Bank is making significant contribution to the economy of the country by bringing remittances from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, Jordan, Hong Kong and other countries.
