MoU signed between Global IME Bank and Tansen municipality to provide agricultural subsidy loans

KATHMANDU, Aug 03: A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Global IME Bank Limited and Tansen Municipality to increase the access of small farmers to agricultural subsidy loans.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on agricultural subsidy loan has been signed in coordination with Heifer International Nepal and Rural Economic Development Association under the leadership of Global IME Bank Limited and Tansen Municipality. On behalf of the bank, Deputy Chief of Lumbini Regional Office Joglal Bhushal, Branch Manager of Tansen Branch Bir Bahadur Saru and Mayor of Tansen Municipality Ashok Kumar Shahi has signed the MoU.

As per the agreement, Global IME Bank will provide concessional loans to farmers in various parts of Tansen Municipality for goat rearing, dairy, vegetable farming, poultry, pigeon rearing, fishing and various fruit production on the recommendation of the municipality. 

Global IME Bank, which has a network of branches across the country and abroad, aims to provide access to banking services to customers from more than 800 service centers, including 273 branches, 248 ATMs, 257 branchless banking services, 47 extension and revenue collection counters and 3 foreign representative offices in 76 districts. The bank has been serving more than 2.3 million customers with the slogan 'Bank for All'.

Similarly, the Bank is making significant contribution to the economy of the country by bringing remittances from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, Jordan, Hong Kong and other countries.
