MYAGDI, June 10: Mt. Annapurna, located at the height of 8,019 m remains underrated due to the lack of sufficient promotion and Infrastructures.
In 1950, June 3, French citizen Maurice Herzog stepped on Mt. Annapurna or the first time and after 69 years of the first human footprint, tourists were scaling Mt. Annapurna. The base camp to scale Mt. Annapurna falls under the territory of Myagdi region whereas the mountain lies in Myagdi, Kaski , Manang and Mustang.
Chair of Annapurna Conservation management Committee, Tej Gurung said that it is very attractive to observe the beautiful scenario, streams, herbs and birds at the bottom of mountain. But due to the lack of infrastructures and lack of promotion, the numbers of visitors in Mt. Annapurna is not satisfactory and if there is good infrastructural development of the region then it will benefit the locals, state government and provincial government as well.
