Mundum Trekking Route Journey Begins

KATHMANDU, July 17: Mundum Trekking route has been started with the technical support of Concept Nepal and Maiyung, Tamke, Salpa, Silichung tourism promotion centre. Mundum Trekking route was explores in order to explore the eastern side of the Nepal including Khotang, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha and Solukhumbu region.
In the program organized in the capital by the tourism promotion centre, they issued the map and inaugurated the trekking route. In the program documentary and photos of the route were shown. The map was issued with the joint collaboration of Parliament of Bhojpur; Sudan Kirati, Director of the board; Hikmat Singh AR, General Secretary of TAAN; Ang Pemba Sherpa, Bacchnarayan Shrestha, Tourism Journalist; Amrit Bhadgaule, Director of Himalayan Map House; Pawan Shakya and President of the centre Ramesh Rai.
The trekking route starts from Chakhewa Bhanjyang of Bhojpur to Silichung Hills. It will take around 9 days to complete the trek. There is the facility of food and home stay in Chakhewa Bhanjyang, Dhokre and Salpa Bhanjyang. This area is very suitable for camping. While trekking we can observe the lifestyle of people from Dudhkunda to Sagarmatha, Makalu and Kumbhakarna. The climax point of the trekking will be 4,153m high at Silichung.
After walking for 4 hours at Salpa Bhanjyang we can reach Silichung. Person has to walk for 6-8 hours per day in this trek. We can observe Kirant community’s lifestyle. According to the Vice president of the centre, Inshu Rai, necessary facilities will be provided to the person who is willing to trek in this route.
