NAC Airbus A320 grounded at TIA

KATHMANDU, March 11: Nepal Airlines Airbus A320 Lumbini call sign 9N-AKX has been grounded at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) had suffered a bird strike on March 6th during its flight en route to Kathmandu from New Delhi.
According to the source, the detailed inspection of the aircraft has already been carried out by the engineers. ‘The slat of the right wings has to be replaced,’ claimed the source.
The ground staff of the Airlines discovered bird strike at the leading edge of right wing during the routine inspection of the aircraft after it landed in Kathmandu. The staff found the slat to be slightly damaged.
The wounded Airbus is waiting for new slat to arrive; reported source and also informed that the slat has not arrived yet.
“We have to wait for some more days for the slat replacement due to unavailability of maintenance engineers along with delay in arrival of new slat,” source added.
