KATHMANDU, May 06: Nepal Airlines has reached the final stage in the process of bringing in 3 Chinese pilots to operate its grounded Y-12 Series aircraft.

NAC has informed that it is bringing in 3 Chinese pilots who will be paid a salary of USD 8,000 per month for their services. Managing Director of NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar, said that the corporation is also looking to hire pilots from other countries, including Africa and South America. Kansakar said that the corporation is requesting for applications from those countries with license and bio-data.

The licenses of the Chinese pilots, in the meanwhile, have been brought to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal along with the required paperwork for work permits. The Chinese pilots are only being hired until Nepali pilots can be prepared to fly the aircraft.

NAC spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha said that the Chinese pilots will arrive within one month after completing the required process.
