NAC conducts test flight of new wide-body aircraft

KATHMANDU, July 24: Nepal Airlines Corporation has taken test flight of its new wide-body airship. The spokesperson of the Corporation said that test fight has been done from Tribhuvan International Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport. The wide-body aircraft, named Annapurna, was brought to Nepal on June 28 and now is being operated by foreign pilot Charles Fransico and Nepali Shrawan Rijal.

The corporation has decided to expand its territory by flying to international destinations from wide-body A330-220 series. According to the umbrella organization of aviation sector International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), test flight should be done before operating any new aircraft. The corporation has informed that all the required procedure has been completed.

In the test flight there were no passengers. After the success of the test flight, the corporation will now be deciding the flight schedule. The first official flight will be started from August 1. Likewise, second wide-body Airbus will be brought in July 27.
