NAC prepares to buy two Airbus A320neo aircraft

KATHMANDU, June 17: The Nepal Airlines Corporation(NAC)'s Board of Directors has given a consensus agreement for purchase of two new aircraft. The board of directors has given approval for the purchase of aircraft.

According to the Managing Director for NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar, the board has decided to buy the Narrow body Airbus-320neo aircraft and operate it within two or three years.

He said that the NAC board of directors agreed to the decision and has requested a global tender to forward the aircraft purchase process. The corporation is now operating international flight Boeing 9 ACB-575 and two airbus 320 aircraft.

The NAC currently deals internationally on 8 destinations from Nepal. Nepal Airlines flights to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Doha, Dubai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. The corporation has four Y -12, two MA-16 two and 3 twineter aircraft for international flight. The corporation has flown in more than a dozen locations from these planes.The corporation plans to buy 6 Viking Twin Otter Aircraft for internal flights.
