KATHMANDU, AUG 20: Nepal Airlines has declared that false news has been circulated about its much-discussed purchase of 2 wide-body Airbus aircraft, claiming that there have been inconsistencies in the process of purchasing the aircraft.
In a press release published on Sunday, the NAC claimed that the false news about the purchase has been spread to sabotage the corporation's growth. It claimed that the aircraft were purchased through the applicable Public Procurement Act, following its legal procedures to accept the purchase at a low price. According to the NAC, 10 companies from 6 different countries took part in the tender process. The press release also states that it is common knowledge that 10 companies presented the proposal on the basis of the corporation's request for proposal, which would mean that the process for purchasing the aircraft adhered to the Public Procurement Act.
