NAC to buy two additional Narrow Body aircrafts

KATHMANDU, August 19 : As a part of its aggressive market expansion plan Nepal Airlines has started the procedure to buy a pair of narrow body aircraft. Though the market share of Nepal's National carrier is increasing it still has to cut 40 pc of its flights.
The airlines have started negotiation with the Airbus regarding the purchase of the new aircrafts spokesperson of NAC informed.
"We are planning to bring two narrow body aircraft for flights in the current destinations where we are flying. At present we are in consultation with Air Bus," Rabindra Shrestha, NAC's spokesperson said. NAC is planning to buy narrow body aircraft of A 320-200 series.
Currently, NAC is set to get delivery of 2 wide bodies 330-200 by October of 2018 and has already sent 8 billion rupees for the purchase of the aircraft to AAR Company. The NAC has claimed that the addition of two new aircrafts will let it to stretch its muscles in International arena.
The national flag carrier of Nepal currently is continuing its flight to Delhi, Mumbai and Banglore of India whereas it also is operating its flights to Bangkok of Thailand, Kuala Lampur of Malaysia, Doha of Qatar, Hongkong and Dubai of United Arab Emirates.
Previously, Delhi, Doha, Mumbai and Banglore were out of the schedule of NAC which have compelled the Nepali passengers to choose foreign airlines, quite expensive in comparison to Nepali ones. After the reach of NAC in additional destinations other International Airlines also had to lower their fare. With the arrival of two narrow body aircraft NAC is in plan to add flights to Dubai, Doha, Hongkong and Delhi.
